Essential maintenance on A361 between Hilperton and Semington
Everything possible is being done to minimise any disruption while essential maintenance is carried out on the on the A361 between Hilperton and Semington in May.
Due to the nature of the work, a road closure is required, however this will only be in effect at weekends to avoid the busiest periods and most commuter traffic. No work will take place during the week. Weather dependent, the road will be closed from 7am to 6pm on Saturday 6 May, Sunday 7 May and Sunday 14 May.
Anyone using that route is advised to allow extra time on their journeys due to the diversion route and the extra congestion expected.
Access to Semington will be unrestricted as the roundabout is not being resurfaced as part of the programme and usual access for residents and businesses will be maintained.
Following initial patching work last year, the second phase will include removal of cats eyes, resurfacing and replacing the cats eyes and lining. It follows work to repair the structure of the road last year.
Local businesses will receive a letter with the full details nearer the time.
