The Book Club met on 13th February to discuss A Gentleman in Moscow by Amor Towles. Everyone enjoyed it although not all had finished it as yet. It is a very rich and meaty read with a good ending. The characters are excellent, it is historically interesting and well written. One member felt it could become an ‘A’ level text for schools and would take its place as great literature in the future. A quote from
the Mail on Sunday says it all – ‘A propensity for elegant sentences, wonderful characters and inventive storytelling … This is everything a novel should be: charming, witty, poetic and generous. An absolute delight’.

The next meeting is scheduled for Thursday 19th March at 8.00pm in the pub to discuss Dead at First Sight by Peter James. All welcome
